Question: I have e-mail filtering or anti-“SPAM” software set up.
How do I make sure I receive subjectpool e-mail?
Answer: To ensure that you receive e-mails from subjectpool.com, please do one of the following:
- Add the “subjectpool.com” domain to your e-mail “safe list”.
- If your settings don't allow you to add e-mail addresses to a “safe list” or “white list“,
use the Help section or contact your e-mail/internet provider's Customer Service to help with your configuration options.
- Disable your e-mail filtering or anti-“SPAM” software.
NOTE:
The main reasons why subjectpool will send you an e-mail include:
- To send you your password when you register
- Notify you when you change your details
- You request your password through our online password reminder
- You make a booking: we send you a confirmation e-mail.
- You cancel a booking: we send you a confirmation e-mail.
- A researcher cancels your booking: we send you a notification e-mail.
- A researcher marks one of your bookings to indicate you did not attend: we send you a notification e-mail.
- You contact us regarding a question or issue.

As outlined in the Year 1 guide, students of psychology at Edinburgh earn up to 5% of the course mark based on tutorial and research participation. the research participation element consists of 9 hours of research participation across the full year.
You can sign up for experiments online at http://www.subjectpool.com/ed/participant/
The first time you go here, you will need to create an account - preferably using your student email address.
You will receive a copy of your new account details, including password - and you can then search and sign up for studies, and also monitor your research credit.
Don’t panic if there are not many experiments up early on in the semester: ethics and the rhythm of the research year mean that it most studies are available shortly after the start of semester. Research will continue across the whole year.
